College of Nursing

  • Nursing, as a profession, has evolved. Gone are the days when nurses as seen as assistants to doctors. Nursing is both art and science. They need to stick to the exactness of scientific limits of recommended dosage for patients, while they are expected to go beyond physical aspects and attend to psychological and emotional needs of the patients. The profession demands long hours of work at the bedside, generating observation reports, educating patients, interacting with physicians, swiftly attending to emergency needs and much more.

Our all-embracing curriculum prepares graduates to perform basic nursing and restorative care for patients involving safety, personal hygiene, nutrition, mobility, basic mental health, protection of patients' rights, observing the patient and reporting to the nurse.

Texila, being one among the best Nursing Colleges in the Caribbean, provides professional nursing programs that incorporate concepts and theories from the humanities and the social, natural and behavioral sciences throughout the curriculum. After completion of our course, students will become eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) which allows them to practice Nursing in USA.
