The 4 years Doctor of Medicine curriculum is designed to work closely together with highly competent students and develop their intellectual and technical knowledge in medicine. Beyond knowledge and skill in medicine, the curriculum also coaches the students how to read the medical literature, how to conduct medical research and publish or market their expertise. It teaches the students the importance of self-motivated learning as a lifelong exercise.
These first 2 years of curriculum focuses on courses in Basic Sciences and their application to clinical medicine. Semesters begin in January, May and September, and students can begin their studies in any semester. In addition to didactic lectures, lab work and problem based learning; students make community and hospital visits, practice history taking and physical examinations with patients in our affiliated clinics.
Clinical Sciences program will take place in years 3 and 4. In these years students will get training in the care and study of patients in Hospitals. The training comprises 80 weeks of clinical rotation in both core and elective subjects.
Student who choose to do the clinical training in Guyana will do so in our affiliated teaching hospital that has been teaching & Training doctors since the last 25 years Or can choose to the clinical training in Philippines.
Electives can be done in Europe and other Asian Destinations like India, Pakistan, China , Thailand etc, which shall not be more than 6-12 weeks of rotations - but in approved teaching hospitals.
NOTE: The Undergraduate Medical Degree program leading to M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) degree is designed according to the American medical curriculum. It is equivalent to the traditional M.B.B.S medical degree program.
The 4 year Doctor of Medicine program is Divided into 2 Parts.
1) The Pre-Clinical {Basic Science} Part: 20 Months
2) The Clinical Part: 80 Weeks
Students from HIGH School will Undergo a 4 year [ 12 Semester program ] as we RUN 3 semesters a year.
Students from A levels or Higher Secondary schooling with the last 2 years focusing on Subjects in Biology and Chemistry will Skip the two 2 semesters of the BSN nursing program

Clinical Curriculum
Clinical Rotations; The clinical rotations are for 80 weeks. The clinical rotations comprises of Core rotations that has to be done compulsorily and then the Electives which the student can choose to do.
